As part of a long trajectory in organizing, social and political advocacy, and working in community spaces as well as nationally and internationally, Cristina has appeared and been interviewed by various media outlets across the nation including Univision Chicago, Chicago Tonight, Voyage LA, and various radio stations. In 2019 she gave her first TEDx Talk for #TEDxDelthorneWomen.
A Daughter of Immigrants
On Friday, November 30, Cristina Garcia delivered a TEDx Talk named “A Daughter of Immigrants” where she elevated her immigrant roots and the resilience that comes from it in spite of the challenges and microaggressions that children of immigrants experience along the way. Cristina had the pleasure of sharing the stage with so many other talented women each with a very powerful and unique message.
Cristina is being interviewed by Anchor and Journalist, Enrique Rodriguez of Univision Chicago News in 2016 on the state of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals also known as DACA, a program instituted by former President Obama, that allows people who were brought to the US by their parents as children, the right to work in the country lawfully protecting them from deportation.
